Karen Healy and Niall Westman chose the stunning Listowel Arms for their charming winter wedding on December 26, 2017. The wedding party included Norma Healy as maid of honour, with Ciara McNamara, Emily O’Driscoll and Brid Nolan as bridesmaids. Lee Collins was the best man, with Mark Turner and Laurence Oxley as groomsmen.

The pair opted for a ceremony in St Mary’s Church, Listowel. For the couple, involving their five month old baby Harry in their special day was of paramount importance. “Making our day about our son Harry was key to us, therefore we ensured he was involved from start to finish my christening during our wedding ceremony. We also walked down the aisle with him and he had his very own tier of our wedding cake. Having his christening captured in our wedding photos and DVD was so precious to us,” Karen explains.

Karen reveals that from the onset, the pair wanted a winter forest theme for their special day. “Green became the dominant colour choice. We used forest green on our invitation, bridesmaid dresses, groomsmen ties and throughout the décor in the Listowel Arms Hotel. We wanted our wedding to reflect a warm and magical winter wonderland, which we feel we achieved,” Karen says

Karen reveals that the pair opted for a centre table rather than a traditional top table in their reception. “We opted for a large square table centre of the floor with our guests all around us. This was beautifully unique and the table decorations also carried our winter forest theme.

How was your experience with the Listowel Arms Hotel?

“It was impeccable service from start to finish from the Listowel Arms Hotel. Our guests are still remarking on the décor, the service, food and kindness that was provided by staff and management from the Friday right through until check-out on Monday. Their absolute attention to detail and eagerness to fulfil each and every request was flawless. The venue was so welcoming and the Christmas décor lent itself magically to make our day as special as we had dreamed. In our opinion, guests will always remember good food, good music and flowing drink. These three elements were key to our wedding, and we’re grateful to everyone in the Listowel Arms.”
