It was their shared love for music that brought Mags Mahony and and Joe McGill together. “We met during the August Bank Holiday weekend in 2010 at The Caherciveen Celtic Music Festival in our local nightclub”, Mags recalls
In 2015 Joe popped the question on December 21st at St.Finian’s Bay beach, “It was one of the first places we would have gone to on a date. One of my best friends-Siobhán and the first in our group had got engaged a few days before so it was lovely to be celebrating our engagements together. It was an extra special Christmas celebrating with family and friends that year”

“Joe wrote a song for me which he sang during the ceremony and that was really lovely. Also, some of the mass was as Gaeilge which was nice as the Irish language has always been important to me” the bride shared. “The Church ceremony as it had a huge family involvement” adds Joe.
“We had both our mother’s wedding dresses on display at the hotel which was very special and we were delighted that we were able to do this. They were in fantastic condition-both were over 40 years old” Mags said.
HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE AT BALLYROE HEIGHTS HOTEL?
“We are delighted that we chose The Ballyroe Heights Hotel as our wedding venue. From day one we were welcomed there and no request was too big or too small. Patrick was a pleasure to deal with, extremely professional and always available to discuss any requests or queries that we had. Mike and Jonathan were also great and always made sure that we were looked after when we called to the hotel in the lead up to our wedding day. Everything on the day itself was fantastic. The function room was fabulously decorated. The food and service were exceptional and everything ran like clockwork. We would 100 percent recommend Ballyroe to future couples looking to book their wedding venue!”
