Laura Kelly, a speech and language therapist from Tralee, and Shane Freeman, a sound engineer at RTÉ from Tralee, knew each other since secondary school but didn’t have a connection together until college when sparks started flying, and have been together nearly nine wonderful years ever since. They had just made the move from Dublin back home to Kerry when Shane surprised Laura and popped the question, to which Laura happily said yes. “One week into my new job and Shane dropped down on one knee at home giving me the biggest shock and surprise of my life! Fortunately, we were able to celebrate the lovely news with both our families that evening”, the bride shared. December 1, 2018 was set for their special day, with The Church of Purification and Ballyseede Castle chosen as the perfect location.

“Will Leahy is my favourite radio DJ and I always used to love his slot in the evenings when driving home from work when he would play a special song for couples getting married that week. Shane, clearly having listened to me back in the day when I would go on and on about this, was able to organise a recording of Will to introduce our first dance and our special song which was such a wonderful surprise on the day!”, Laura shared.
HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH CIARA O’DONNELL PHOTOGRAPHY?
“Ciara was such a fabulous person to deal with in the run up to our wedding. From our first meeting with her we knew we had to book her! Her friendliness and sense of humour put us at such ease as did her knowledge of how the day would run. On the morning of the wedding she was such a calming pleasure to have in the house. Everyone commented on her super personality and way of working on the day. We were also treated to a small preview of some of our images the following morning which was a lovely treat to have so soon after.”
